Tyre pressure: Check the tyre pressure before every ride. The correct tyre pressure will vary depending on your weight, the type of terrain you’re riding, and the type of tyres you have. Brakes: Check the brake pads for wear and make sure the brakes are working properly. Chain: Lube the chain regularly to keep it clean and working smoothly. Pedals: Ensure they spin smoothly and oil up if necessary. Shifting: Make sure the shifting is working smoothly and that the gears are shifting correctly. Wheels: Check the wheels for any cracks or damage. Make sure the wheels are true and that the spokes are tight. Frame: Check the frame for any cracks or damage. Bearings: Check the bearings in the hubs, headset, and bottom bracket for wear, oil up in advance of a ride. Other components:Â Check other components on your bike, such as the pedals, saddle, and handlebars, for any wear or damage.
